Physicians and Staff
Dr. Cohen is board certified in both adult and pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology. Dr. Cohen graduated from New York Medical College in 1976. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida. He served as chief resident in pediatrics at New York Medical College in 1979-1980. He completed his fellowship in allergy, asthma and clinical immunology at the University of Kansas Medical Center and Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. In 1992 Dr. Cohen became a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and has been in private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1990. He is an assistant professor with the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Western Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Nevada State Medical Association, and the Clark County Medical Society.
Allergists and clinical immunologists are physicians who have completed a post doctoral training process including three years of training in internal medicine or pediatrics, followed by two years of special training in allergy, asthma, and immunology. Since a trained allergist/clinical immunologist is also an internist or pediatrician, he or she has the capabilities of a primary care physician and can effectively manage the comprehensive needs of patients with asthma and allergies. Robert D. Rowe Robert (Bob) Rowe is an Nurse Practitioner. Bob obtained a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UNLV in 2010. He obtained his Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and his Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Missouri Baptist College. Bob completed his initial Registered Nursing Degree in 1981. Bob has over 30 years of extensive and varied experience in nursing including emergency/trauma, and burn unit. He is retired from the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Bob has chosen to concentrate his practice in allergy, asthma and immunology A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed advanced education (a minimum of a master's degree) and training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions, including chronic illnesses. Nurse practitioners provide a broad range of health care services. They provide some of the same care provided by physicians and maintain close working relationships with physicians. Most NPs specialize in a particular field of medical care. |
